As we have said our good byes to Sarah, we now look forward to welcoming our new minister for Southdown Methodist Church, Revd Jade Bath on Sunday September 7 at 10.30am (Southdown) and at a special Circuit Service (High Street) at 6.30pm on the same day.

As a way of introduction, Jade gives us a little bit about her life.

I was born in South Yorkshire and grew up on the edge of Doncaster, with a view from my bedroom of the fields leading down to the River Don.

Sermon August 24 : 'Frayed at the edges!'

Tony Higgins preached on the Bible passage 'Who do you say that I am' and 'Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid.' Holiday at Home

Duchess Tea Rooms Woburn Abbey
Some participants and one of the hosts of 'Holiday at Home' enjoying tea in the Duchess Tea Rooms Woburn Abbey.

'Holiday at Home' is a three day event run by the Church in August for those people over 60 who are at home during the summer. This year the event was from the 5th - 8th August which included trips to Stockwood Park and Woburn Safari Park as well as craft activities games and a concert. Breakfast, Lunch and evening meals are all included.

As one member commented 'My wife and I have had a really good time. It has been better than going away on holiday as we can sleep back at home in our own bed.'

Daily Bible Study.

Worship style at Southdown is traditional with the music from the organ and piano.

Average morning congregation is 40 worshipers.

There is a a Crêche for the under 4's, a Junior Church for the 4's - 11's and a Youth Group for the 11+ meeting at the same time as the Morning Worship .

Time for Prayer

The Church is open every Wednesday 9.30 - 10.00am for prayers.
